Apps Not Working In One Account

I've been having problems in one of my accounts so I restored the account profile from backup.

The account appears to work but I now have a problem with the Windows Apps only in this account. There is no Store App !! and several of the default apps are missing.

    So far I've tried:

    • Running the Apps Troubleshooter
    • Running WSRESET
    • Download Reinstall-preinstalledApps.zip from Microsoft to Desktop. From admin powershell enter
      • Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted
      • cd C:\Users\YourUserName\Downloads
      • .\reinstall-preinstalledApp.ps1 This will execute the script and all your default preinstalled Store apps will get reinstalled. If you try to install an app that is already installed, it will be skipped without an error. Now check if the app has been reinstalled and can be launched.
      • Set-ExecutionPolicy AllSigned

None of the above has worked. Are there any other fixes apart from a repair install?

    :)

  2. Windows 10 apps not working for one user account only

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

You do not require another email address in order to use another user account.

You can create a new user account as local account. Then use the same Microsoft Account which you have been using and test if the apps have the same issue.

    Follow the steps:

Press Windows key + R to open
    RUN box

    Type control userpasswords2 and press
    OK

Under User Account window and under
    Users tab, click Add tab

Under How will this person sign-in windows, click the option at the bottom
Sign in without a Microsoft account (not recommended)

On the next window click Local Account
    at the bottom

Choose a user name (use password if you want to or you can leave the password section blank as it is just to test)

    Click Next and then click
    Finish

As you click Finish, the previous User Accounts
    window remains on the screen

Select newly created user and click Properties

    Click Group Membership tab

Click to select Administrator and click
Other and select Administrator from drop-down menu

    Click Apply and then click
    OK

    Hope this helps.

Windows 10 apps not working for one user account only

    Hi,

Bought a new laptop with windows 8, upgraded to windows 10 immediately after getting it. This was about a month and a half ago. Had some issues at first, seemed to have resolved them. I later added a user account for my husband and everything was working
okay (after some fiddling) up til now.

Yesterday I set up a new user account for one of my kids, and now MY user account has apps that wont work (opens for a split second, then gone). I first noticed the issue when I tried to open MY people app (thinking I might be able to export some of my
contacts to my kids account) and it wouldn't stay open. Then I noticed that the Store button on the taskbar was missing, there was a blank space there, but no logo. I could click the blank space and the store app would start to open, but then gone. Then
I noticed MY Microsoft Solitaire app tile on the start menu was missing the picture (I'd played earlier that day with no issues). I thought I could fix with a reinstall, but how can I with the store app not working? Then I also noticed other tiles on the
start menu missing logos, (camera, films & TV, maps); tried them and none of them will open either.

I searched for resolutions online, tried a few, but still nothing. I did a system restore, which made no difference (except now the calculator app doesn't work either). I tried running the app troubleshooter (found no problems), I tried "WSreset.exe",
which came up with "MS-Windows-StoreApps Not Working In One Account :purge Caches - the remote procedure call failed". I then checked to see if the problem existed on my husbands account, and everything seemed okay. Then I ran the Microsoft Accounts Troubleshooter and it resulted in
"-can't sync to service" and "-rootcauses found & created logs" ???????

So now I don't know what to do.....wishing I'd never bought a windows laptop.

Any suggestions, besides a complete start over?
