Windows 10: apps setup not working

    Help, I was trying to download something on my pc and as soon as I opened the setup file it said that I cant access the app but I tried running the app as administrator and it didnt work even that some apps that didnt work then ran as admin worked any help?

    Hello Adam,

    This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. apps setup not working :)

    In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

    Method 1: Compatibility mode.

    I suggest you to install the Apps in compatibility mode and check if it helps.

    Follow the below steps:


    • Right-click on the setup file of the App and select
      Properties
      .

    • Select Compatibility tab.

    • Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.

    • Let the apps install and then check the functionality.
    If the above method doesn’t work, I suggest you to try below method and check if it helps

    Method 2: Update the Apps.

    I suggest you to update the apps and check if it resolves the issue.
