Windows 10: Apps/Software wont open, but will appear in the toolbar?

I'm new to the PC world, so please forgive me for my ignorance.
the problem I'm having is whenever I select an app to run(like steam, or even files) nothing will happen. nothing pops up saying there's an issue, but i can see the icon appear in the toolbar to show its running, and I can even get the preview window when I hover my cursor over it. im running windows 10 with the latest update, if that helps at all.

Native apps toolbar dont appear


Hello guys, I have a problems with my Windows 10.


The native application icons do not appear on the toolbar (like calculator, e-mail, Edge, settings, etc):




I'm using the build 14279, but it has happened since the first (I am Insider)
I tried reinstalling the applications but not solved, any solution?

Security Flaw Discovered in Google Toolbar

A security flaw has been discovered in Google's Toolbar which could allow criminals to steal data or install malicious software onto people’s computers. The flaw works by exploiting the toolbar’s ability to install new buttons, and allows a hacker to potentially disguise malicious code as a legitimate button due to the fact that the toolbar does not perform adequate checks when buttons are being installed. To become a victim of the vulnerability, a user would have to be tricked into clicking a link which would open a new popup window asking them to install a custom button, which appears to be installed from a legitimate site such as Google. It then needs to be run from the toolbar, and a user would have to agree to downloading and running an executable. Given the number of steps involved, the flaw is not being treated as critical, and Google is already working on a fix for the problem.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
