Windows 10: apps that aren't in the app store are not downloading and I need help fixing it

How do I download apps that are not in the app store?


So I saw that my version of zoom was a bit outdated and I wanted to download a newer one, so when I went to the download page and clicked the download button, and when It finished I opened it and it said: "The app you're trying to install isn't a Microsoft-verified app. Installing apps from the store helps protect your Pc and kept it running smoothly." and then there is a button that says "get apps from the store" and another that say's "Change my app recommendation settings".

I did some research and there is supposed to be a button to allow this but there isn't anything.



is there any way to fix this, or is this like a problem with my version of windows?

Icons from apps aren´t displayed correctly






The native apps from the system are all showing this strange square instead of the normal icons. Please help resolve this problem. Thanks

Launched on January 6th (2011), the Mac App Store is accessible to Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Mac OS X Lion users, and offers thousands of free and paid apps covering Education, Games, Graphics & Design, Lifestyle, Productivity, Utilities and other categories. In contrast, the iOS-only App Store has over 500,000 apps and has surpassed 18 billion downloads.

"In just three years the App Store changed how people get mobile apps, and now the Mac App Store is changing the traditional PC software industry," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. "With more than 100 million downloads in less than a year, the Mac App Store is the largest and fastest growing PC software store in the world."
