Hey Y'all, I keep having this repeated and frustrating issue with my laptop. First off, my system specs and settings:Windows 11 Home Version 22H2, Build 22621.2134HP Victus 15 LaptopI have the laptop hooked up to 1 or 2 external monitors from different brands I work out of 3 or 4 different desks a week, so the monitors are all different, but all have the same problemSometimes there is a docking station involved and sometimes it is a direct HDMI connectionMy computer is set to sleep when the laptop lid is closed and the power cable is NOT plugged inIt is set to stay awake when the lid is cl

I surmise the need for step recorder is not common enough to justify enabling the option for Intel driver.

Screen Capture Mouse Cursor position on External Monitor is why I create this post.

When it cannot capture Mouse Position, I use Steps Recorder but it records both Displays...

My Screen Capture is used for following:

1. Power Automate Cloud
   
2. Office 365
   
3. communicate to Tech Support
   

Hoping Microsoft would add features to next version of

1. Step Recorder
   
2. Snip App(s)
   
3. Windows Display setting
   

Assuming most users like me need

1. Mouse cursor position captured by Snip App(s)
   
2. External monitor, when used, is often
   
   1. to extend Display
      
   2. used for important task(s)
      
   3. App such as Office is on External Display
      
   4. Laptop monitor for secondary task(s)
      
   5. Step Recorder is to demo use of Single App, therefore External Monitor
      
   6. Portrait oriented for capturing web pages like Power Automate

I need assistance on both suggestions; how to

1. turn off laptop monitor?
   
2. locate feedback hub on Cortana?
   

My workaround is to use PowerPoint Screen Recorder but this need additional screen capture.

The reason for Screen Recorder is Windows 10 Mouse Cursor for Office Menu item disappear when select Screen Capture App. It is cumbersome to show Tech Support what is selected on Office App on captured screen...

Monitor settings when close laptop lid

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, we would need some information.

1. What is the version and
   build of you operating system? In the Search box, type
   winver to get this info.
   
2. May I know the Make and the model of the computer and external monitor?
   
3. Are you aware of any changes made on your computer before this issue occurred?
   

We also suggest following the steps below and check if it makes any difference.

Since you are facing issue with the Secondary monitor, I would suggest you to
Troubleshoot external monitor connections in Windows 10
and check if it fixes the issue.

Additionally refer this article on Second
screen or Projector mode does not persist after you close and reopen a laptop lid.
