Windows 10: AppXManifest.xml cant be recovered no matter what I try

I started off by not being able to download game pass games to the right drive due to "We couldn't set your default save location" so I followed many forums. I started off having Microsoft store and being able to download games though not to the right drive, but now I have a very broken windowsapps folder and no manifest file in site. XML Files

Hi folks! Just registered to this forum and glad to have found it.

So I was installing Ubuntu on my computer which already had windows 10.I wanted to have a dual OS. Things went south and windows got deleted/ over written or whatever.

I used a hard drive recovery device to recover as many files as I can from the windows partition.
It recovered everything that matters like pdf files and pictures.

The recovered material is about 100 Gigs.

A majority of the 100 gigs seems to be XML files.
Since I already recovered the pdf and picture files, can I go ahead and delete these XML files?
What are these XML files anyway?

I just don’t want any important files being masked as XML files and end up deleting them.

Can someone tell me if I should keep these XML files forever?

I really want to delete those 100 gigs of recovered files from my other laptop that was used to recover the files from the hard drive.

Timeline under PEOPLE shows nothing

It's possible that some system files for the People app needs to be re-registered. To do that, we suggest following these steps:

• 
  Right-click the Start button.
  
• 
  Click Command Prompt (Admin).
  
• 
  Copy and paste the following command: PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage *People*).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage
  -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}" and press Enter.
  
• 
  Once it's finished, close the Command Prompt and check if Timelines are available on the app.
  

Gice us an update on what happens after re-registering the People app.

 

AppXManifest missing

Sorry that I mislead you, I mean I got the error when I put in the console command to check the healthiness of my windows installation

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml" -Verbose} in Powershell

I have already tried your suggestion above inside and outside of safemode, each of which the console said that it could not fix my problem. I simply need a way to get a copy of AppXManifest to where it
is supposed to be and I think that should fix it. The problem is that I do not know how to acquire one such file, nor where to put it.

If this helps, the dism command stopped half way (43.9%) and said that it could not go on. Sfc said that it could not fix the problem after it reached 64%.
