Windows 10: Are all Windows 11 default folders OneDrive?

Recently ran into a problem transferring files from a Win10 computer to a Win11 one I had files stored in default folders Documents, Downloads, Pictures, etc with no problems on Win10 and earlier Windows While transferring these to Win11 in what looked like the same folders, I got a notice my OneDrive is out of space Is this how Win11 works now going forward? Default Windows folders are OneDrive, not my HDD? Do I have to manually create new folders on the HDD that serve the same purpose as in earlier Windows?I do not want these files stored one OneDrive for any reason, I want them on my

Anyone know how to remove "OneDrive - For Business" from the Explorer navigation panel? I've tried just about every registry modification, and windows policy for "Onedrive" but they only seem to work for the consumer product, not for onedrive for business.

The onedrive product alone is so damn annoying and continues to load itself upon startup, even when it's explicitly remove from startup. It continues to automatically load and unload itself from within the startup folder... while I'm actively watching it load itself into the startup folder.

 

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

 

Xbox captures default folder

Yes, you can change the default folder for Xbox captures in OneDrive by following these steps:

1. Open the OneDrive app on your device.
   
2. Click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the screen and select "Settings."
   
3. Go to the "Auto Save" tab.
   
4. Under the "Screenshots" and "Captured gameplay" sections, select the "OneDrive" option and then click "Update folders."
   
5. Deselect the Xbox captures folder that you no longer want to be the default and select the new folder you want to use instead.
   
6. Click "Update" to save your changes.
   

After completing these steps, any new Xbox captures will be saved to the new default folder you selected in OneDrive. If you want to move your existing captures to the new folder, you can do so by selecting them in OneDrive and using the "Move" function to move them to the new folder.
