  1. Are there any official patches or updates from Microsoft specifically targeting the 8.3...

Hello everyone,I recently came across the Windows Short 8.3 Filename vulnerability and its potential security implications for Microsoft IIS servers. After researching the topic, I found that disabling 8.3 filenames through a registry key is the recommended mitigation strategy. However, I wanted to inquire if there are any official patches or updates from Microsoft specifically targeting this vulnerability? Are there any known patches or updates that address this issue, or is the registry key modification the only available solution?Thank you for your time and assistance.

    :)

  2. Microsoft Preps Six Updates for Next Week

Another Patch Tuesday is closing in fast and it's going to bring us six fresh updates from Microsoft. According to the Redmond-based company, the incoming patches - one rated 'Critical', four 'Important' and one 'Moderate', will resolve seven vulnerabilities that could lead to remote code execution or denial of service attacks.

The list of software targeted by Tuesday's patches includes Microsoft Windows, Visual Studio, and Expression Design. The updates will become available on March 13 at about 10:00 am PDT (5:00 pm GMT).

  3. Microsoft Updates and patches on a single PC: Comprehensive or User-Specific?

I've been gifted the Desktop Support hat in a small business and have recommended, as part of our cybersecurity plan, establishing Local User Accounts for everyday use, and keeping Administrator Accounts in reserve for things like GPO edits. Our business depends on regular patches to software as well as the routine Microsoft updates. The owner worries that having different accounts might mess up these routine updates and patches.

Are Microsoft updates and patches applied to a PC across all User accounts, or are they User Account specific? Is there a way to make them comprehensive if they are User-specific?

We do not have a server.

    Thanks!

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
