Are there any options apart from Mellanox for a 100gbe NIC on Windows 8.1

I'm looking to set up a compute cluster with workstations running Windows 8.1. Looking to future proof the networking side by installing 100gbe NICs in the workstations 3 of them. I believe Mellanox has 100gbe NICs that work on Win 8.1 - are there any Intel or others as well? Have to be compatible with Win 8.1.

    :)

Mellanox Rolls Out New Switch and Adapter Products

Mellanox Technologies, Ltd., a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end interconnect solutions for data center servers and storage systems, today announced two new products as part of its suite of end-to-end 10 Gigabit and 40 Gigabit Ethernet solutions. The SwitchX SX1024 is the industry’s only top-of-rack switch system that features 48 SFP+ 10GbE server ports and 12 QSFP 40GbE ports for non-blocking connectivity to 40GbE aggregation switches, such as Mellanox’s SX1036 36-port 40GbE switch. The ConnectX-3 single-port 10GbE NIC offers cost-effective, high density server connectivity. The new low-power 10GbE products support all major operating systems, and are well suited for server and storage applications in high-performance computing, enterprise data centers, Web 2.0, financial services, storage and Cloud computing environments.

These new products are being announced on the heels of the company’s new pricing structure for 10GbE products detailed last month, and are part of Mellanox’s complete end-to-end 10GbE and 40GbE solutions that include switches, NICs, cables and software. Mellanox solutions are accelerating the adoption of higher speed Ethernet fabrics to enable superior application performance and I/O consolidation. According to Dell’Oro Group, Mellanox is now the leading provider of 10GbE NICs, with 24.6 percent of total market share in Q4 2011.

“Increasing bandwidth requirements and virtualization are driving demand for faster Ethernet interconnect solutions,” said David Barzilai, vice president of marketing at Mellanox Technologies. “Our 10GbE and 40GbE interconnect solutions are providing end users with some of the most important features for today’s data center products: low-latency, CPU efficiency, high performance and high density, low power and low cost.”

The SX1024 provides the following features and benefits:
    • High density: the first non-blocking top of rack switch providing unmatched performance
    • Performance : 250 ns latency, 1.92Tb/s non-blocking throughput, 154W typical
    • 48 SFP+ 10GbE server ports
    • 12 QSFP 40GbE uplink ports
    • Dense 1 rack unit form factor
The ConnectX-3 10GbE PCIe 3.0 NIC provides the following features and benefits:
    • Single SFP+ port for copper or optical connectivity
    • Performance: 1us RDMA latency, 6us TCP/UPD latency; lower latency available with VMA Message accelerator
    • Lowest adapter card power; 3.5W typical
