  1. Are there recommended best practices for account management Windows, MS365, local, etc....

I've been a Windows user since the early 1990's, and the job of account management seems to get more complicated with time rather than simpler. Is there a recommended setup? Are there different theories on the subject? Ideally I would like to use a single account and a single password/PIN for day-to-day computer use.My needs are simple... I have a Windows 10 desktop, a Windows 10 could be 11 laptop Surface, and an Android phone. I use MS365 Business Standard. I have my original Microsoft account almost 30 years old, multiple local account profiles, and a MS365 account.Ideally I would lik

  2. Are there recommended best practices for account management (Windows, MS365, local, etc.) when using desktop, laptop devices and cloud storage?

I've been a Windows user since the early 1990's, and the job of account management seems to get more complicated with time rather than simpler. Is there a recommended setup? Are there different theories on the subject? Ideally I would like to use a single account and a single password/PIN for day-to-day computer use.

My needs are simple... I have a Windows 10 desktop, a Windows 10 (could be 11) laptop (Surface), and an Android phone. I use MS365 Business Standard. I have my original Microsoft account (almost 30 years old), multiple local account profiles, and a MS365 account.

Ideally I would like to use my more current MS365 credentials and one password/PIN for device/Windows login, Microsoft apps, and MS365 cloud storage.

  3. Local account installation question

I'm fairly certain that Skip this step was available in 10.0.130 - the workaround in Step 20 (back button) is no longer required.

The currently known, as of 10.0.130, ways to create a Local account sign-in are
    • Skip this step at the MS account creation phase
    • No Internet connection during the install
    • static IP (post# 2 by Fragment) - New (to me anyway)

    Cannot switch to local account

    Hi,

Thank you for your interest in using Windows 10.

Refer to these steps to convert Microsoft account into Local User account:

    • Click on Windows button, then click on
      Settings.

    • Click on Accounts then click on
      Your account
      .

    • Click on Sign in with a local account instead.

    • Following the Online instructions.
If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to create a new Local user account and check if that helps you.

    • Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Control Panel”.

    • Click on “User Accounts” and click on “Manage another Account”.

    • Click on “Add a new user in PC Settings”. Follow the on screen directions to complete the process.
Hope this information helps you. Please do let us know if you need further assistance.
