Windows 10: Artist Art on Groove (Windows 10)

So,first of all there is Artist Art missing for some artist . Second : While playing shouldn't the artist art that is displayed be for the ALBUM ARTIST & not the 'Contributing artist' because more than 1 Artist might be contributing and for that there is no Artist art, so Groove displays the Album art in this case. This is annoying. People have been telling you guys about this specific problem since I don't know, forever. But you just keep on working for the album art and the Song info, which we can change using other software too, but not the Artist Art on groove. Please update your information on Artist regularly and add an option where we can suggest Artist info. for lesser known or foreign artist or where we can change the Artist Art by our own choice just like the Album Art. I hope you work on this fast because I am starting to hate this specific problem. It messes with the whole look of my collection.

How To Change Album Art

• Open up Groove Music.
• Click on an album
• Somewhere on the top, you will find 3 dots placed horizontally. Click on it.
• Click "Edit Info".
• Then click the box with the pencil on the corner.
• Done.

• Right click on a song.
• Click "Edit Info".
• Fill in the boxes (They will say Unknown Artist or Unknown Album)
• Then you will see the songs in an album (If you press Album on the side of Groove Music.
• Done.

Naive remarks.

Does not work correctly on my collection. Sometimes, Groove does not propose the good album, or a
list without the good one and can do an automatic change......Nothing concerning
artist art..

 

Groove Shows Unknown Artist & Unknown Album


I solved it by doing the following! I'm not sure which step cracked the problem.

• Set indexing to index the content of my music files by right clicking on the top level folder, setting the option and applying to all files and sub-folders
• Rebuilt the index via the Control Panel Indexing options
• Deleted the folders watched in Groove
• Deleted the Groove database at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.ZuneMusic_<random>\LocalState\Database
• Started Groove
• Reassigned the folders to watch

All songs now appear with the right artist & album but some album art was missing in Groove and Media Player despite being displayed correctly in iTunes. I manually updated the missing album art in Media Player and Groove then synchronised to match the Media Player album art.
