Windows 10: ascii to hex converter app that can do so in registry format?

So i know a plethora of online ones exist. Even so, they've all failed me in the simplicity im looking for. Plus id prefer one i can run local.

Seem pretty rare best i can tell.

Anyone know of anything?

I'd like it to be able to do string to hex or the other direction, and include or have the option to include the commas, 00's, and \ neecessary to create a regfile.

Something like that out there or is it the long n hard way for everyone that requires this?

VS 2019 Convert Text to Hex Number

I need to convert the data in the Text box into HEX number and send it through serial port.

Here is the code to send though Serial Port that I am using.

port.Write(textBox1.Text);

If I enter 1000 in the text box, I see in the serial terminal program HEX values 31 30 30 30. Which is correct.

This data will be read by the micro-controller.

I need to convert this number into Hex format and send only 2 bytes 03 E8.

Please help. Thank you.

 

Nokia E71 - How do you enter a HEX WPA Key?

Fortunately I was able to resolve my problem and I learned something about WPA keys in the process. In my case, I originally retrieved the key from my laptop using a utility. It displayed the 256 bit key as a 64 hex characters. It turns out there was
a typable ASCII key that worked. The reason the hex key couldn't be translated to typable ASCII characters is that it is actually a 256 bit hash calculated from the 63 byte ASCII key combined with the SSID. The E71x apparently supports entering the key either
as the 63 byte ASCII key or as its 256 bit hex hash. If I understand correctly, the latest implementation of WPA specifies an ASCII key converted to a 256 bit hash but earlier versions allowed entering a 256 bit key directly as hex. I guess the latest implementation
makes sense since hashing the key makes it less vulnerable to a dictionary attack, but it would be nice if the E71 supported entering the the key as hex.

 

E7 and ascii WPA keys

Hi,



My home network is using a nice long random ascii passphrase as preshared key.



Connectivity from my handsets has never been a problem - my E90 and the wife's C5-03 all work great. It's not the access point either - a while back I replaced by Belkin with a Zyxel router, which I have since replaced again with my trusty old FritzBox.
All three of these work with both older handsets.



In any case, the E7 (both Anna and pre-Anna) has a bloody-minded insistence that I must enter a 64 character hex key - which I don't have. I have tried typing the ascii key in, copy/pasting in the ascii key (which is oddly truncated), I have tried the Nokia
configuration tool, I have tried my employer's online Wifi provisioning system (no doubt also based on the tool) and even tried doing conversions from ASCII to HEX. No luck.



Surely Nokia isn't forcing me to switch to a hex key instead of an ascii passphrase just to connect my E7 to my home network?



Any suggestions welcome!
