Windows 10: Asian-language IME disappeared in Windows 10 asked & answered

E66 bought in hong honk has asian languages only

a friend's old man bought her a E66 on a trip to hong kong. It seems to only have asian (picture) languages on it.

I tried updating the firmware with the updater. The update worked. Version 102.07.81 was already on the phone and the same version was re-installed via the update. It still only has asian languages (presumably the first list I got after the flash was a list
of languages - all pictures!)

Is there some way i can flash the phone with a firmware version that contains english?
