Windows 10: Asian Windows default font change to European

Hello,

I couldn't find the answer to my particular question.


I have a computer bought in Japan.

I installed the system and Office bought here.

I installed a US English language package on my computer and turned it into the "system preferred language".


Still in Outlook and Work I have a Japanese font as a default font it's either YuMincho or YuGothic.

I cannot change the default font directly in Outlook because it gives me a choice only among Asian fonts. No Latin fonts.


How to change that somewhere deep in the system.

I have Windows 10 Home edition 1903.

Asian characters on an European N8

It depends on the Asian languages.



With Belle on my N8, I tried Nokia's Chinese, Japanese and Korean web sites. The China and Japan sites showed Chinese and Japanese text, but the Korean site did not show Korean (just boxes, instead of actual characters). So, at least, the default system
fonts include Chinese and Japanese (I didn't check any other Asian languages than these three).

 

How to change font size in Windows 10 and set them to default?

As your concern is about changing the font size, do let us know the following to assist you better:

• Are you referring to font size in Windows operating system/ with in the Windows Live Mail?
• Have you installed any fonts on your device?

If you are referring to font size in Windows operating system, try the below and check if it helps.

Step 1: Steps to restore the default font settings.

• Press Windows key, type font and select
  Change Font Settings.
• Click on Restore default font settings.
• Sign-out from the current user account and re-sign in and check if it helps.

Step 2: Change the font settings

• Press Windows key, type font and select View fonts installed.
• Click on Change font size in the left pane.
• Under Change the text only, click on the drop down arrow choose the appropriate option and change the size you wish to and click on
  Apply.

If you are referring to Windows Live Mail, I would like to inform that it is by design you cannot change the font settings to default on Windows Live Mail. Instead, you can choose appropriate font size and fonts while typing the mail.
