Why does my toolbar on the taskbar gets removed/reset on boot sometimes?

I personally liked the quick-launch toolbar on older Windows versions, so I created a new toolbar that points to a folder that has shortcuts, set it to be on the left, without text and title.

The problem is that sometimes, when I restart the PC, the toolbar is gone. When I re-add it, it even forgets its original location and that I chose not to show its text and title.

Is there any way to avoid this?

Where do I report about this issue?

It's not a suggestion for improvement.

    It's a bug.

It never occurred on Windows 7 and before.

Anyway, I've reported it. Please fix this issue.

Good thing. The whole model of pushing junk on people should be changed, my parents don't understand why they have to look for the smaller button instead of pushing the obvious one.

    Hi there

I hope also those confusing websites that deliberately confuse people into downloading the WRONG software with all those Green arrows etc are mercilessly exposed too.

Even Softpaedia is cleaning up its act slightly these days --Malware isn't worth it any more if the sites that still try and use it realize that there's no future (or more importantly) any money id installing this type of B/S on to people's computers.

    Cheers

I never get where the money is in the first place: you would think the bad reputation for sponsoring this kind of crap would exceed the visibility you gain by displaying the ads.

Sadly there are folks who don't know the difference, Jools. They'll just click on anything that pops up.

Yes, I get that, but even my father has started to hate the ask toolbar, although he has no idea how it was installed. I would imagine this generates a lot of bad will towards those crap companies.

Even semi-professional users can fall for the victim of crapware, sometimes you only see the opt-out button if you click the custom install button, and sometimes you actually have to click cancel to decline the offer and just unticking the selection is not enough.

Yes I know these installer say "read the following carefully" but who has time to do that?
