Windows 10: Aspire 5610z Start up Problems

Not sure if this is the right place for this question as it doesn't specifically refer to Win10.

I'm trying to get a friend's laptop to work, but there seems to be a significant problem. The unit is an Aspire 5610Z BL50.

When the power button is pressed the power seems to turn it on: the lights come on and the fan spins, but the screen does not show any life. After about ten seconds or so, the fan turns off but the lights stay on. The screen remains blank. Nothing else changes. The only way to turn it off (apart from pulling the plug) is to hold the power button down - i.e. a hard shutdown.

Any ideas?

Acer Aspire Boot Problem

Its an Aspire desktop...

Only just got in from earlier so will test the above suggestions and see what comes of it, was thinking maybe just for format the disk in my PC as the HDD in the Aspire is sATA also... (If its ok...)

Hi Captain.

While I'm not answering your question on a new AV I would suggest as a possible step, upgrading your ram.

Crucial has ram for your device. $40 (not sure about tax or shipping) Your device seems to have one slot so you would need the 4GB stick. As you are using 32bit OS you can only use of 3GB. Crucial says you have one slot for memory and tear down videos seem to confirm this.

Memory is static sensitive. Not as much of an issue when it is humid but still something to be aware of. If you don't want to buy a ground strap touch something that is grounded before starting the procedure and then don't go looking for things. Stay seated and perform. You should be fine.

External ram ??? Even if you could buy you wouldn't have port with sufficient speed to connect.

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.
