Windows 10: ASUS computer camera, Windows 7, shows image upside down

This is a wide-spread problem with lots of advice online none of which has been helpful. The in-built camera has, for a long time, inverted the image whereas it didn't before. It's very disconcerting when I'm on a virtual session with someone. One of the suggestions I've seen is to use the device manager and click on "camera". My device manager does not list "camera". Would appreciate how I can turn this image right side up. Thanks so much.

I did exactly what you said, but when I install the Azurewave 5.8.54000.205 driver, this is what happens:





Windows 10 generic webcam driver works, but the picture is upside down.
I read that this happens because Asus phisically installed the webcam upside down in some of its laptops, and then the driver "fixed" this by flipping the picture, but unfortunately it seems that W7 x64 driver is not compatible with W10.

And of course the generic one doesn't know that the camera is installed upside down.

Asus should do something about it, probably it would be very easy for them to release a new driver, but I doubt they will since this model is a few years old now. *Sad

Thank you... I hadn't thought about compatability mode. However whether I run it ordinarily or in win7/64 compat mode I get the same error "Something went wrong" - pretty useful eh?

As to the other suggestion, as above already tried without any joy...........

If it helps, using the camera drivers from the upgrade I see a file called "usbvideo.inf"; when I try the Asus win 7 driver, I see "snp2uvc.inf" - strange as I have cross referenced the right PID

Lets summarise: After the upgrade to win10 the image is fine but upside down. Trying to upgrade the drivers from Asus for win 7/64 (PID5130), we get no image, just a diagnostic thats something is wrong, which isn't very helpful.
Surfing the web, I see others with this problem, but no solution.

To be completely clear, I still had to install the Windows 7 x64 driver from Asus website.
With that driver, the camera doesn't work (as we seen before) in Microsoft Store apps (like Camera and Skype) but it works perfectly on "desktop" Skype.

With the generic Windows 10 driver, the camera was upside down also on desktop Skype.
