Windows 10: Asus ELAN touchpad not showing up after driver update

So I recently upgraded reinstalled to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 because after a reboot my keyboard stopped working everywhere in Windows, I had to do a clean install because it would keep saying that the "Windows 10 installation had failed." Now that I've upgraded, everything has been going downhill. My trackpad is no longer being recognized in the "advanced settings" under "ELAN" and the only way to turn my touchpad on or off is to go into BIOS and turn it off in there. This only happened in Windows 10, and after a driver update. So I reinstalled and rolled back the driver and still have

I recent came across this issue with my parents laptop.

Windows insisted the device was an ELAN touch pad (which it is), but would install ELAN Touchpad 15.8.4.3_X64_WHQL.

However, I visited the ASUS website, and found the latest Touch Pad drivers for Windows 10 (ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Driver & Tools - R510CA
), which was ASUS Smart Gesture (For Windows 10 Upgrade / Touchpad Driver) V4.0.5. I had to uninstall the previous driver first, then installed this one, and it worked. It actually installed the device as an ASUS Touchpad instead of the previous ELAN device.

I've performed several reboots and Windows update checks, and while the ELAN tab still appears on the Mouse Properties screen, all options are disabled because there are no active devices using it.

my asus laptop informed me to wait until my Elan Touchpad Driver finished updating, when it was done it then told me to restart then there was nothing. Previous to my update of Windows 10 (8.1) I had preinstalled Asus smart gesture bundled software that
controlled my touchpad. After Windows 10 installed I had Elan touchpad installed and it was working fine in fact I really liked using it now I have only basic control of the touchpad and the driver although says its in programs add and remove has no size reading
suggesting its not installed. I followed the link to the Elan site and it says that Elan is not compatible with Windows 10, now my asus controls don't work I'm left without any controls for my touchpad, is there anything I can do or any other touchpad software
I can install that will work with Windows 10 ? help I want my touchpad back and with the Elan controls

What windows update to I have to delete to get the touchpad mouse buttons to work and stop disabling the ELAN touchpad in the mouse setup? I have an ASUS laptop.
