Windows 10: Asus G20CB keeps randomly restarting. Screen often goes in rainbow static before doing so....

Hey people. Same problem as i've been having for a long time.The computer runs, and then shutdowns out of nowhere. No real time limit, sometimes within 2 minutes, sometimes within 30 minutes. never usually longer than 10-15.Sometimes there is rainbow static/the whole screen goes to a static/colorful artifact before the shutdown.Event viewer logs a critical error with event id 5 acpi 5 before the shutdowns. I've also seen a CPLSPCON service terminated in the logs as well. The last time I had this error I came across a microsoft community question that had me disable something from the BIOS. Tha

Computer randomly has black screen and restarts

Taco this could be software also. Before you get all crazy, do as Erocker suggested. Find out the error in the Event Viewer. Look for the faulting module and the error code itself. Also check the reliability monitor. At the bottom it will have "View all Error Reports". Post a screen of whats in there if anything.

This could be a simple as a bad driver install.

ALSO have you downloaded or installed anything lately? STAY OUT OF THE DAMN BIOS UNTIL WE KNOW THE ERROR! lol. I know you. Baby steps boy, baby steps.

 

ASUS Laptop Randomly Restarting

I have an ASUS K501U that was given to me from a relative when they received a new computer. I booted it up and trying to do anything the computer would restart randomly. I thought there would be a virus or other problem so I took to Microsoft and explained
the problem. They suggested they would wipe the computer clean. New install of Windows 10.

The laptop still randomly restarts. Blue screen pops up with a frowny face and saying 'You're computer needs to Restart' and immediately goes into loading timing of a restart. I have not installed any
applications, drivers, programs, etc. Even just running Explorer to ask this question it restarted and I had to ask from another device.

Looking at diagnostics, the battery runs great and I don't see any issues with bus, motherboard, or memory. Nothing running at an abnormal temp.

No precious files so willing to do whatever I can to have this laptop work!! Mainly need for Word documents and Office and won't be running high demanding software (college student)--any help greatly appreciated!

Screen Flashes Rainbows and Static

Hi,

I got my PC recently brand new, and when I turn it on the power for the first time it tells me Microsoft didn't finish installing. No problem there I run msoobe.exe and it ends up okay, or so I thought. Every time I power it up now I get a bunch of command
windows doing various installations like I did a hard reset of the system and then I get flashing rainbows and static. Good thing is I don't have epilepsy, bad thing is I still can't use my brand spanking new PC. Please help.
