Windows 10: ASUS Laptop Locking Up Automatically every 1 minute or so

Greetings!I am a Windows 10 user on ASUS A412FL 2019 which I frequently uses plugged in and on max settings especially during the pandemic for studies. Lately my laptop have been locking automatically whenever it is idle. It is not worrying per se, but it sure is concerning to not be able to set up my device to be "always on" when plugged in like it used to.So far I have tried:Setting up my power plan and setting when the device should go to sleep to "Never"Setting the "Turn Off Hard Disk" to "Never"Setting the Link State Power Management to "Off"Setting the Critical Battery Action to "Do

I am a Windows 10 user on ASUS A412FL (2019) which I frequently uses plugged in and on max settings (especially during the pandemic for studies). Lately my laptop have been locking automatically whenever it is idle. It is not worrying per se, but it sure is concerning to not be able to set up my device to be "always on" when plugged in like it used to.

So far I have tried:

• Setting up my power plan and setting when the device should go to sleep to "Never"
  
• Setting the "Turn Off Hard Disk" to "Never"
  
• Setting the Link State Power Management to "Off"
  
• Setting the Critical Battery Action to "Do Nothing"
  
• Doing a safe boot but to no avail (it still automatically locks up in the safe boot)
  

Is there anything else I could try, or is this just a hardware issue that I have to make peace with?

You have tried some of the troubleshooting steps to prevent your laptop from locking itself up when it is idle. If these steps do not solve the problem, there are some other things you can try:



1. Check the screen saver settings: Sometimes, the screen saver settings can cause the computer to lock itself. Go to Settings > Personalisation > Lock Screen and make sure the screen saver is disabled or set to a long timeout.



2. Update drivers: Outdated or incompatible drivers can sometimes cause power management issues. Please visit the ASUS support website to ensure that you have installed the latest drivers for your laptop model.



3. Disable Fast Startup: Fast Startup is a feature in Windows 10 that can sometimes cause power-related issues. To disable this feature, go to Control Panel > Power Options > Select Power Button Features and click Change settings that are currently unavailable. Uncheck the Turn on Fast Startup option.



4. Run a system file check: Open "Command Prompt" as administrator and run the command "sfc /scannow" to check if the system files are corrupted. Follow the on-screen instructions and restart your computer after the scan is complete.



If none of the above steps solves the problem, then a hardware issue may be causing the auto-lock. In this case, it is best to contact ASUS after-sales support for computer hardware testing.

laptop doesnt boot automatically

This is what happened.

1. Did a repair install and later disabled hibertnate in CMD.
2. Enabled legacy option ROM in BIOS.
3. After a few times startup ( i used the system in such mode for 5 days), changed boot option back to default.
4. Vola!! It boots automatically to win10 without any keypress. Tested it with many starts to confirm the same.
5. Re-enabled hibernate option using CMD and later selected Fast Startup.
6. System booted normally, without the need for any keypress.

I do not know exactly whether such steps resolved the problem or what else happened, hence cannot suggest above steps.
