Windows 10: Asus laptop won't go to sleep after closing the lid after changing the lcd screen.

Yesterday, I went to change my Asus laptop screen because the original was defective ( it started showing white screen sometimes with lines ). The replacement screen was taken from a random used laptop. I checked every setting in power settings and everything is set to sleep when the lid is closed, reinstalled every driver from Asus for my laptop and works fine. Anyone knows if this is a hardware or software issue ?

Yep. The computer remained and I could use the external monitor. But all windows on the laptop screen moved over. Currently when the lid is closed, the windows remain on the laptop screen which is then "off"

 

Laptop goes to sleep when the LID is closed while playing the game.

• Did you make any recent changes prior to the issue?
• Are you facing this issue specifically when playing the specific Game?
• Are you facing this issue after any recent updates installed?

This issue might have caused due to the power settings for the closing of LID is set to sleep mode.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Press Windows + X keys and select the Control Panel.
• Select Power options by searching in search box.
• Right side select Change Plan setting next to the power plans.
• Select the Change advanced Power plan settings.
• Under the list select and expand Power buttons and lid.
• Select Turn off the display under the drop down of setting.
• Click Apply. Ok.
• Close the LID and Check if the issue resolves.

Are you sure the "old computer" screen actually turned off when the lid was closed? If the lid is closed there is no way to see if the LCD panel is black. Was there a setting on the old one that didn't actually turn the computer off, put it to Sleep or Hibernate when the lid was closed?
