    Asus’ next Windows 10 ARM PC “Primus” to run on Snapdragon 1000


    Windows 10 on ARM is the future of mobile computing and the software giant Microsoft is betting big on this project. The Always Connected PCs runs Windows 10 ARM with Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets and it offers the ultimate productivity with more mobility, and always-connected internet connectivity.

    Microsoft last year launched Windows 10 on ARM with much fanfare, and while the first-generation Always Connected PCs received negative reviews from critics due to limitations like slightly reduced performance, the next generation ARM PCs is more powerful then you’d expect.

    The all-new and upcoming Always Connected PC from Asus is codenamed Primus and it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 1000 processor. It is rumoured to be around 6.5 watts and it will be as powerful as Intel’s Y generation chipsets.

    If everything goes as per the plan, Asus Primus will be unveiled later this year and it would become available for purchase in early 2019 in more markets.

    Qualcomm is also working on Snapdragon 845 and 850 processors for Always Connected PCs. We recently spotted the first device with Snapdragon 845 on Geekbench, and by the looks of things, it’ll be better than the first-generation ARM PCs, and it’ll also fix the biggest issues of its predecessors.

    Lenovo will be one of the first OEMs to manufacture the Always Connected PC with Snapdragon 845 processor, and the device is codenamed Europa.

    Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, 850 and 1000 would bring substantial performance improvements to the Always Connected PCs lineup.
