Windows 10: Asus P8Z68 lw no audio from speakers

Hi, I have a PC with a P8Z68 lw motherboard running windows 11 and 7. When I try to plug in a speaker or headphones it doesn't work only static plays. In settings everything looks like it should work on both os's. I have tried reinstalling audio and graphics drivers however nothing seems to work. I have tried all the trouble shooting steeps and nothing works so if some one could help me that would greatly be appreciated.

Asus P8Z68 Deluxe Compatibility with Windows 10

The Asus support page lists Win 10 X64. Other than Realtek audio drivers, none are offered. That suggests that most of the necessary drivers are included in the Windows installation or through Windows Update.

I think it should work just fine.
