Windows 10: Asus ROG G17 QM 2021 unable to wake up after closing lid for more than 1 hour

After a recent windows update, my laptop has been unable to wake up after closing its lid for more than 1 hour, the only way to wake it up is to turn it off using the power button and turning it back on again, i have tried almost everything that i could find on the internet, including ISM and SFC scannowreinstalling windowsuninstalling updatescompletely turning off hibernationchange close lid to do nothing and make all sleep related time settings in control panel to neverAll drivers are up to date for win 10And alot of other random stuff on the internetthe interesting thing is after reinstal

How long have you had this Asus ROG? Has it ever turned off the screen when the lid is closed?

The last post in this thread suggests it may be a hardware problem, the section starting 'Here's an interesting story about the GL502VS in general' describes a sequence of replacements from Asus, one of which behaved this way. Oddly, the OP actually wanted this behaviour.

Wake on Lan (WOL) does not work when the lid is closed

I met problem when configuring wake on lan. After enabling wake on lan in BIOS and in network adapter settings, I was able to wake my computer from sleep. But the problem is my laptop won't wake up when the lid is closed. That is to say:

1. When I manually sleep my computer via "Start -> Power -> Sleep" button (thus the lid is not closed), I can successfully wake my computer on lan.
2. When I closed the lid to let computer go to sleep, I can't wake up the computer.
3. When I sleep the computer as in 1 and then close the lid, I still cannot wake my computer.

I have tried several method, including disabling the quickstart, disabling hybrid sleep, turning off Link State Power Management, disable power saving policy in adapter settings and etc.... But they all make no effect.

The Windows version is Windows 10 1809

The Network Adapter is made by Realtek

Laptop does not wake from sleep using mouse and keyboard when the lid is close, but can wake when the lid is open.

Hi, so followed all of the instructions and these are my experiences:

• I tried to close the lid and do what you've said like pointing the cursor to recycle bin and it works, after i did the folder was open. However, this is because when I close the lid my laptop still not in sleep mode. So i waited for it to sleep and see the light blinking then i tried clicking and there was no response.
  
• Then, I tried the clean boot. Step by step as per instructions but nothing works. Still experiencing the same problem. I'm really wondering why, now i connected the hdmi cable and working with the monitor "Second Screen Only". The laptop lid is open and everything is working properly, I close the lid and still working fine. I tried to put it asleep but the mouse or keyboard can't wake the screen. Then I tried the same set up, second screen only, then put it asleep while the lid is open. Touch the mouse and my laptop was wake immediately.
