Windows 10: Asus ROG STRIX Prime Z690 USB 3.2 gen 1 ports not working

So i found that some water had leaked onto the top of my pc case overnight. I have a vent, filter and cooling system in my pc which all together stopped 99% of visible water from getting into the system. as far as i could tell, no damage occurred but to be safe i left the front of my case open to air dry and carefully cleaned any water from the vent/filter of which there was not much. After leaving it to air dry for aprox 3/4 of a day, i turned it on still with the front off and checked all parts were working note my peripherals were connected via the rear USB 3.2 gen 1 ports on my Asus Z

Asus ROG STRIX Z690-A no audio except through bluetooth

Hello there,

I found out just yesterday that bluetooth only works through the wifi extender so I hooked that up and bluetooth worked and I could connect a bluetooth audio device and listen to something. Yet nothing else works like a headset connected through cable.

I also got a sound card which worked perfectly fine on my previous build Asus Essence STX II 24-bit 192 kHz Sound Card (Essence STX II) - PCPartPicker

Is this compatible with my power 850W and also with my mobo? I plugged the power cable from this sound card into the SATA area that has connectors for my HDD's for example. Regular audio through the motherboard directly doesn't work either.

I've installed all windows updates and drivers that the Armoury crate listed. I've also tried installing the one listed on the asus website itself: ROG STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4 | ROG Strix | Gaming Motherboards｜ROG - Republic of Gamers｜ROG Global

i've flashed my bios through windows update: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. - Firmware - 10.1.2.1720 is the one I downloaded and use now.

Solution: Open the app of the sound card and edit the settings LOL, Its been really long time I had to go in there.

 

USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports stopped working. Code 10 on Generic USB Hub

Hi all,

Over Christmas I built a new system.

Z690 Asus TUF MB

Alderlake CPU

WIndows 11 pro. Fresh install.

Everything was working fine.

But at some point 4 of the rear USB ports and 2 control panel ports stopped working. All USB3.2 Gen 1

The remaining ports (USB 3.2 Gen 2) etc work fine.

Device manager has a (Code 10) on Generic USB Hub. The device cannot start.

I've tried everything to reinstall the driver.

Even reinstalled windows.

Nothing has worked.

The ports work fine in the BIOS.

So I'm ruling out an Hardware failure.

There doesn't appear to be anything available driver wise from ASUS.

Any suggestion?

Only USB 3.2 Gen 1 usb ports working in Windows

So, when i start my pc and go to my bios all my Usb ports work, but when i go to windows they stop working. Every usb port still hast power but there is no data transfer. Like written above only the Usb 3.2 Gen 1 ports work fully. I have upgraded my power supply and motherboard but that didnt change anything. I also have already tried updating all my drivers but that didnt work.

MoBo: Asus Rog Strix B450 F gaming II

Cpu: AMD ryzen 7 2700x

Ram: Corsair Vengeance 16x2

Gpu: Palit rtx 2060

PSU: Bequiet pure power 11
