Windows 10: Asus s400CA Touchscreen keeps clicking fast and randomly

Hello guys,

I have an asus S400CA touchscreen. Have all the recent windows updates. The touchscreen keeps clicking fast and randomly. The issue started two days back. I have used the smart gesture app to disable the trackpad when mouse is connected. Doesn't change anything and I dont use a mouse either anyway. It goes away for a time when i restart the computer. But then it gets back to it.

Any idea ?

ASUS Vivobook S400CA touchscreen trouble after update to Windows 10

Hi,

I have problems with my ASUS Vivobook S400CA. The touchscreen has stopped working since I updated to windows 10, I tryed the scan of new device in "device manager" but nothing happened.

Before the update, I had windows 8 and then 8.1, and everything worked fine.

How can I solve?

I understand the inconvenience you are facing in accessing the touch screen feature on your device. Do not worry we will help you with this issue.

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ outdated drivers on your device. Try the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

I suggest you to use external mouse and keyboard, check if they are working fine to try the below.

Step 1: I suggest you to run
Hardware and Devices troubleshooter as it
checks for common problems and makes sure that any new device or hardware connected to your PC is installed correctly.

• Press Windows key from the keyboard, type
  Troubleshooting and select it.
• Click on view all option on the upper left corner of
  Troubleshooting window.
• Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
  
• Click Next to run the Hardware and Device
  Troubleshooter.

Step 2: I suggest you to update the drivers for touch feature in Device Manager:

Steps:

• Right click on Windows key from the desktop and click on
  Device Manager.
• Expand Human Interface Devices, right click on the
  Touch screen driver and select Update Driver Software.

Use external mouse and keyboard, check if they are working fine to try the below.

I suggest you to uninstall and re-install the drivers for touch feature in Device Manager:

Steps:

• Right click on Windows key from the desktop and click on
  Device Manager.
• Expand Human Interface Devices, right click on the
  Touch screen driver and select Uninstall.

Also, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer's website and install all the drivers on your device.

Search for your device model, download the latest drivers.
You can install Windows 8/8.1 drivers in compatibility mode if there are no Windows 10 compatible drivers.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• Download the updated driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right click the driver installation file and select
  Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
  
• Tap the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
  OK.
• Try installing the driver and check.
