Windows 10: Asus Strix Sound Card. New win10 install

New Windows10 install..all went well. Sound and devices all seen and working: microphone working as well


Outputting sound to a stereo sound amp and speakers...again all was good. Reboot the system today, no sound. Did all the normal software steps: no help or change.


Checked other sound sources tape, radio, vinyl, mp3 all good and sound is working well. Its just the sound from the computer is gone south.


Again, no sound at all from the computer. Device Manager finds no issue, Setting has no issues and offers no real help. I double check the external amp for switch settings and all seems fine. Used headphones and then speakers.


The ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS motherboard on-board sound was working and shut off at the same time as the Asus Strix Soar cards after that reboot earlier today.


I'm at a loss for an answer. Thanks for any and all help, Stephen

Cannot install drivers for Asus Strix Raid DLX sound card ?

It's best to not use driver disks because they're dated as soon as they're preseed, and a newer driver, firmware or patches may have been posted on the actual source you need which is the manufacturer's Support Downloads web page here:

Note there is firmware and a recent driver, plus something for USB which is strange for an audio driver but I'd try it anyway.

You can try installing them in Safe Mode with Networking (so you have internet), or Safe Mode, accessed by one of these methods:

If you still don't get the sound you paid for then contact the Manufacturer's Support and ask for a supervisor, let them know you're airing this in Microsoft Community - the world's largest tech forums - where a senior MVP and Moderator is helping you and along
with millions of others are waiting to hear how they support the very drivers they post on their website, which hopefully isn't to repeat that you dont' have the right driver.

Was there any problem installing the card that took that long? Is it possible it's got a bent tyne or debris in the slot. Sometimes you may need to remove and examine the slot and card closely for imperfections, reseat it carefuly and firmly. If it still malfunctions
with the latest driver, I'd have Support troubleshoot it for an RMA if necessary.

Windows not detecting Mic or headphones in new Asus Soar strix sound card.

I purchased this sound card hoping to have a work-a-round for another issue. I was told in this

thread I needed to downgrade from windows 1709 for windows to detect my headphones. I was hoping a new sound card would correct the issue without a downgrade. I have installed the new card and it appears is moving through the device called "headphones Strix
Sound card" but I hear no sound and It does not detect the mic. I am wondering if the device that I see sound on is actually the head phones that are plugged in and if so how to I correct it.

An incompatible driver is one of the possible reasons why this issue is happening. First, we recommend following the steps in this

If the issue still persists, try checking the audio manager for your sound card and see if you can make some settings to enable headphones and microphones. If you can't find the audio manager for your sound card, recommend, contacting Asus support to help look
for the audio manager on your computer.
