Windows 10: ASUS Stuck On "Preparing Automatic Repair" Screen

Recently my computer has been stuck on the "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen and I'm not sure what at all to do. I went to the ASUS BIOS thing multiple times but only managed to get to Windows Recovery once and I'm not able to do much from either, as far as I can tell.If it's not obvious, I'm also not very computer savvy so any advice/help would need to be dumbed down a bit or explained in a bit more detail than usual, if possible.

Preparing Automatic Repair

My son's Lenovo Ideapad 110-15ACL has been stuck on "Preparing Automatic Repair" for over a week now. I can't followed any steps listed for remedying it because the computer doesn't respond to any instructions, like holding F8 or even booting from a USB, at all. Has anyone ideas or it's time to discard this 5-year old laptop?

 

Preparing automatic repair black screen afterwards stuck

Fixing this gaming PC for a friend. His computer gets stuck on the windows logo with the dotted spinning circle. In the past to fix this i've done a startup repair. But this time, the PC starts the Preparing Automatic Repair, then screen goes black, where normally it should be showing diagnosing your pc before loaded the Automatic Repair screen.

What should I attempt to try next?

Try entering Safe Mode to repair

Press the power button to turn on your PC, then hold the power button down until PC shuts down automatically (about 5 seconds). Repeat this more than 2 times until you see the Preparing Automatic Repair (see below screenshot).

Note: This step is aim to bring up Preparing Automatic Repair screen. When Windows doesn’t boot properly, this screen pops up and Windows attempts to fix the problem by itself. If you’ve seen this screen for the first time when you power up the computer, skip
this step.

.- Then wait for Windows to diagnose your PC.

.- Click Advanced options, then the system will bring up the Windows RE (Recovery environment.) screen.

.- On the Windows RE (Recovery environment) screen, click Troubleshoot.

.- On the Troubleshoot screen, click Advanced options.

.- Click Startup Settings to continue.

.- Click Restart. The computer restarts and another screen opens showing a list of different startup options.

.- On your keyboard, press the 4 number key to enter Safe Mode without network. (If you need to do some online research after boot into the safe mode, press the 5 number key to enter Safe Mode with network access.)
