Windows 10: Asus UX410U, Cannot update to Windows 10 1803. External Storage detected but there is no...

Asus UX410U, Cannot update to Windows 10 1803. More storage space requried. I selected External Storage detected but there is no "Continue Button".


I have tried selecting my D: Partition which has almost 1TB of free space as well as my 64gb USB Drive (tried both exFAT and NTFS). Either way, there is no continue button. The area which SHOULD have a continue button is completely blank/empty. I actually did not even know there was supposed to be a continue button until I googled it because nothing ever came up for me in the 3 months windows has been bugging me to unsuccessfully update.


I have tried cleaning up storage space on C: but I cannot delete enough things.


What do I do?

Update Assistant does not detect External Storage Device

I am currently facing an issue with the update assistant. The problem comes from the prompt as seen from this webpage

The issue is in "Step 2: Connect an external storage device". It says to
"Connect your external storage device and wait until you see it in the drop-down list" but the external storage device already connected to my device (and shows up on My PC) is not shown on the drop down list. Can you help?

To further isolate the issue, kindly answer the questions below:

• Have you tried connecting your external device storage to different PC to make sure that it's not defective?

• Have you tried connecting a different external storage device to your PC to check if you're still experiencing the same issue?

• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

For the meantime, you may try suggested troubleshooting that was provided by
Andre Da Costa from this link and check if it makes any difference.
