Windows 10: Asus Vivobook built in Camera not Working

Recently, my camera has been showing this image every time I open it. Additionally, the flash for the camera shows up, and the camera behaves as it should except the fact that there is no display. I have already reset and troubleshooted the app, and I could not find any solutions online. The same issue persists when I use the camera on different apps, such as omegle, etc.

Camera stopped working ASUS Vivobook

Hi all,

I have a newer ASUS Vivobook and I went to use my webcam and its saying that there is no camera avalible. It also says that the camera is not found when I open my camera app. When I went into my device manager there also is no webcam. I've had this laptop for 6 months and have used my webcam a number of times before so I'm not sure why all of the sudden its not working!

 

ASUS VivoBook - Camera does not work

When I open the camera app, it says "We can't find your camera". I went to deice managers and my driver is up to date. Also, I can not find a Camera section in device manager, not even under imaging devices. I tried adding a legacy hardware but no model
of the hardware would be shown.

My laptop model is ASUS VivoBook S15 S530UA.

It would be much appreciated if you could please help me.

 

Laptop camera not working ASUS Vivobook Windows 11

I recently tried to join a Zoom meeting and found that whatever I did, I could not get the onboard camera on my ASUS Vivobook 17 to work. I searched the net and tried absolutely everything suggested, this appears to be a common problem. I checked all of the permissions, installed new drivers, nothing. Yesterday, after yet another forced update by Windows 11, I noticed a new icon lurking about on my desktop - it turned out to be ScreenXpert. I had not installed it and don't believe that it was on my laptop before. I investigated trying to get rid of it, I don't care for unsolicited stuff, I checked it's settings and found that it had turned off my camera! I turned the camera back on using ScreenXpert, checked it worked - it did, then uninstalled ScreenXpert. My camera still works, I don't have ScreenXpeert doing things to my settings in the background. I'm just fearing the next Windows 11 "Upgrade" in case it comes back, at least this time I'll know what to look for if things go haywire again. Hope that this helps someone else out there.
