ASUS Vivobook webcam grey box when camera is on

I've had this new Asus for a week. The camera never worked, and so I installed a new driver. That didn't fix it. I have tried everything. Windows recognizes the webcam. When I open it with the Camera app, it has no error message, just a grey box. Do I have to send it back or bring it back to the store? I have had numerous laptops in the past 15 years, and this has never happened before. Can anyone help? Please? This is a Windows 10 64-bit operating system.

    :)

  2. ASUS VivoBook Windows 10 Camera Problem

I have an Asus VivoBook with Windows 10, bought in January 2020. The camera contunously broadcasts a fixed image, see attached.

    It's a jpeg.

I have not been able to find the picture to delete it or to find the setting that stops the camera from broadcasting it when on skype or zoom calls . Does anyone know how to get rid of this. The camera is called: USB2.0 HD IRUVC WebCam

Anyone with insight as to what to do please let me know.

  3. Camera Driver not found

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is Anthony.

I'm Independent Advisor and I'm happy to assist you.

I understand how difficult it is, when the device or app won't work in the way it should. I would suggest to uninstall and reinstall the Webcam driver. Follow these steps

    - Press Windows key + X select "Device Manager".

    - Locate "Cameras" and Expand the Cameras to show your Webcam driver.

    - Right click on the Webcam driver and choose "Uninstall".

    - Restart your computer and the Webcam driver will automatically reinstall.

If does not work, I would suggest to update Webcam driver. Follow these steps

    - Press Windows key + X select "Device Manager".

    - Locate "Cameras" and Expand the Cameras to show your Webcam driver.

    - Right click on the Webcam driver and choose "update driver".

    - Select "Search automatically for updated driver software and then follow the instruction on the screen.

If the issue persist I would suggest to download Webcam driver at the official website of the software manufacturer. Check the link below.

Internal webcam not working ASUS UX430UA Laptop

    Hey guys,

So I'm having an issue with my internal webcam on my laptop (Asus UX430UA). Basically whenever I use the windows camera app, skype or any other video service it just shows a black screen, also a white led turns on next to the webcam when using the apps possibly indicating the webcam is on? I tried googling and looking at other forums for months now and seems like no one has a straight answer and/or fix. I tried uninstalling the webcam driver " USB2.0 HD UVC WebCam" and reinstalling and that didn't work, tried looking for an updated driver via Asus driver downloads and there isn't one listed for my model and also made sure all Windows 10 privacy settings are not blocking the webcam from working and that still didn't work. Hopefully someone has a suggestion that I haven't tried yet, here are the details of the driver; Version: 10.0.18362.693, Date: 6/21/2006.

    Thanks in advance!
