Windows 10: Asus Zenbook 3 model UX390UA - 0xA00F4244 Missing Camera Error

Good morning-


Trying to see if anyone could potentially assist with this. I have an exec at my company who uses a Asus Zenbook 3 model UX390UA. He attempted to join a Zoom meeting but when he attempts to use the camera, he encounters an error. The infamous, 0xA00F4244 Missing Camera Error. Prior to me writing this seeking help, I have attempted a few of the fixes I found while browsing google/youtube. Ive attempted to "Reset" my camera, adding an item to Regedit, downloading any and all Asus drivers from their website, confirmed it wasn't a function key shortcut that turned it off, etc. Any input, suggestions, tips would be greatly appreciated as I am normally pretty good with troubleshooting but this one has me at a loss of words and scratching my head. Thank you in advance.


I also included a screen shot of the users Device Manager, as I found it interesting that there was not a "Camera" option within the list. Thanks again!

Missing Camera Driver; Error 0xA00F4244

I have an Asus ZenBook 2 using Windows 10 Pro.

I have never had a problem with the built-in camera before. The issue began in August 2018 when I tried to use Skype and the error being that there were "no available cameras". To make it easier, I will list out all steps that I have taken:

• Opened the camera app and received the error message: "0xA00F4244 <NoCamerasAreAttached>"
• went to settings and changed the security permissions to allow all apps to access camera
• went so far as to uninstall all antivirus software, restart, etc.
• finally decided to check drivers: there is no trace of a webcam / camera driver (see image; two tabs where the camera driver should be are open)
• 
  
  
• Even went to the designated Asus website to see if there were any available webcam / camera drivers available (there are none)
• checked for updates (there are none that would solve this issue)

I have tried every option that I am capable of completing and it seems like the "built-in" camera is defunct. Unfortunately, I do not know if this occurred after an update as I rarely use the camera but it would be nice to be able to skype the family on
a laptop instead of a mobile phone.

Any insight or assistance on what to do would be greatly appreciated.
