Windows 10: aswVmm.sys is missing or contains errors. Error code: 0xc000007b

Hello all, this is not a help request but more of a knowledge share post. WARNING: This should only be done with Avast or AVG .sys filesAlso not responsible for any damage or loss this may have caused.TLDR at the bottom.After coming home from work today and booting up my PC, noticed I had a startup error. Couldn't boot to safemode and looked up alone for assistance. Only saw posts with the basic troubleshooting, use windows install media to run sfc scan or dism etc. if that doesn't work then reinstall windows. No way I am re-imaging my computer on a weeknight, thankfully I was able to boot int

Kernel missing/contains error, error code 0xc0000605

Hello,

after running the chkdsk c: /f and /r command, it said that there was no problem. So I tried to reboot the laptop to see if it worked but now it shows a different error which is winload.exe is missing or contains error with error code 0xc0000225. After searching
for a solution for that problem, it suggested me to use the bootrec commands but it still gave me access denied after bootrec /fixboot

Did I miss a step or somehow made the problem worse?

 

0xc000007b Error


I upgraded to Windows 10 today with no major issues. However, I have been receiving the 0xc000007b error for ColorUService and APSDaemon.exe at start up. I receive the same error when launching Origin from EA Games and any related game.

I talked to the techs at EA Games and they suggested using CCleaner prior to uninstalling Origin with Rivo Uninstaller. At this point I downloaded a fresh copy of Origin. The installation failed because the 0xc000007b error popped up.

I looked in several webpages concerning the error. The suggested fixes were for Windows 7/8/8.1. The ones I tried did not work.

My email program did not work correctly. I fixed this by downloading Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4

I have a Asus laptop, N750JK, with Windows 10 installed, Invidia GForce 850M, 16 GB Ram.

Is there a fix for the 0xc000007b error for Windows 10?
