At login my Windows 11 is asking for a Challenge phrase which I don’t have. I know my password but can’t find a way to enter. Face Id is now also not accepted.

Windows 11 Sign Issues with Challenge Phrase

Hi,

I am trying to sign into my laptop as normal, but it says my password has been entered incorrectly so I have to enter the challenge phrase A1B2C3 and then my password. I know my password is correct but it keeps locking me out saying it is incorrect. I've followed Windows 11 tutorials to fix login issues but none mention the challenge phrase, which seems to be our issue.

 

I don't know my challenge phrase

One of my friend entered my laptop pin incorrectly and now it is asking me for a challenge phrase. I remember my pin but there is no way I can go back and enter my pin to login to my laptop. I don't remember having a challenge phrase. Is there anyway I
can login using my pin again?

First, "Challenge Phrase" is a new approach taken by Microsoft to thwarting brute force attacks or cyber trespassers. This attack involves a simple process of trying all common or likely PIN codes over and over until the correct code is finally discovered.
When a PIN gets entered incorrectly four times in a row, users are sent to a different screen where they are requires to enter a specific phrase.

May I know what are you trying to do before the challenge phrase prompted?

And what do you mean by nothing happens? Did this mean you where directed to another windows?
