Windows 10: At random, my HP desktop computer running on updated Windows regularly freeze at random...

Sometimes, I wait and screen goes back to normal but half the time I have to restart the computer after it turns to sleep mode. The image attached shows small zig zags all over the screen. Annoying because it can happen in the middle of a Zoom meeting and I have to restart my computer and ask to rejoin the Zoom meeting. What would you suggest the problem is and how to solve this? Some one at Staples said I should reinstall Windows and save everything on an outside device first. Otherwise, Staples will do that for $200. By the way, there is nothing wrong it seems with my HP system tests done w

Windows 10 Random Freeze

So recently I bought My Hp Envy running on windows 10. I believe the computer and all its hardware is find and all. But has random freezes. The screen just froze, neither the keyboard and mouse are responsive. I believe it is an issue with windows 10 because
many other users who are using upgraded to windows 10 have the same issue. They claim that after they revert back to their previous version the problem disappears. I have tried to reset my computer to factory setting and also updated my drivers to the latest
version. Yet this random freezing continues to occur. I brought my computer back to my seller (best buy/geek squad) to fix. They ran a diagnostic test and everything was running normal. Since my PC did not come with a previous version of windows I cannot fix
this problem. So does anyone have any solutions or suggestions? I hope maybe the next update for windows 10 will fix this issue.

 

Windows 10 random freeze

Did you make any changes recently to the computer which may have led to random freeze?

Random hangs are often due to damage to the Windows configuration, faulty hardware, or malware. However, because this behavior is random, it can be especially difficult to identify the proper cause.

Random hangs can also be caused by other faulty hardware. Consult with your PC manufacturer to run available hardware diagnostics. This could include:

• PC diagnostics that test the integrity of the core PC devices, such as the processor fans and cooling system
• Video and display diagnostics
• Additional hard drive diagnostics

I would request you to perform SFC scan(if you have not tried it) and then check if it helps.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to
scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

Note: Steps mentioned for Windows 8/8.1, will work fine with Windows 10.

Random Crash/Freeze on Build 10130


Hello everyone.

I have been running the Windows 10 preview for the last few months and other than a driver issue here or there, did not experience any real problems. However, with the last update to build 10130, I have been experiencing a random crash/freeze that manifests itself in one of two ways:

1. If I step away from the computer and come back before the monitor is set to go to sleep, I will come back to a frozen cursor, unable to do anything.
2. If I step away from the computer and come back after the monitor has gone to sleep, I will come back to a black screen, unable to do anything.

In both cases, I have to hold the power button in to shut down the computer for a restart.

Any direction or help would be greatly appreciated.
