Windows 10: Ati x800xl pci e?

Does the x800xl work in win 10 64?

I just need it for testing because the psu I have is only 400w and the only other spare card I have is a GTX280 200+ watt that wouldn't even run on a 500w psu so with a 400w psu the gtx280 is out of the question.

I think I will try the following items next week:

1. Try pulling the CMOS battery

2. Try disabling the on-board sound in the BIOS.

3. Try disabling the on-board ethernet

4. Try a separate video card and then disable the on-board video.

Initially I was working on the assumption that it was a disk configuration problem because the log shows the error that a file is corrupt. I was hoping that something would have popped up that showed we had similar I/O configurations, but that does not seem
to be the case. I still might dive into the BIOS and see if there are settings that could be changed.

I have the same problem.

I do not think you have understood the issue.

Laptop is running windows 10 and the display is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500.

The MS driver in use is 8.970.100.9001 dated 13-01-2015.

Windows Update installs a new driver: 15.200.1060.0.

This does not appear to support my chipset and the display reverts to "Microsoft Basic Display Display Adapter".

The resolution also falls to 1024 X 768.

Device Mgr shows no driver is installed for the ATI Mobility device.

I can fix this by rolling back the driver to the old version and everything is restored.

BUT Windows Update keeps on doing this........p.i.t.a

Please correct this issue with the driver that is a supposed upgrade, but actually does not work.

Nope. It would work fine with Windows 7 because it's a DirectX 9.0b GPU.

 

Ok, too bad for the x800xl.

I'll just borrow an 8800GTS then it's working now on a win 10 64 pc.
