G'day,My goal was to transfer folders/files from various locations to an external SSD exFAT I purchased. I'm not used to SSD external drives. I treated it as if it was a Seagate 5T external Drive NTFS, i.e., selecting and copying files from their locations -- some very large.As a result of whatever I did action-wise I now have 2.95 TB of said external SSD taken up in the System & reserved "location/s". The folders I expected and thought I moved the files to are empty.Basically I plugged it in found the drive, added the folders where I wanted to put my items and began. The ite

Java.nio.file - Copying files

You can't copy a folder, thats why it generates an exception (you are trying to copy a folder using a copy file function).
You probably need to list all the files inside that folder and copy one by one

Expansion of files on copying

I have a 5TB disk E: which was just about full of archive images.

So I bought an 8TB disk H: and copied ca 4.3TB from E to H:

But according to H properties, there are now 5.93TB stored on it.

The copying process has added double arrows, i.e. apparently compressing the files.

According to the folder listings, the file sizes on the E and H are identical, as are the folder sizes

Can you suggest how the expansion occurred and can be reversed?
