    I wanted to play some old games, so I took a computer out of the closet that had Windows 10 free upgrade on it and tried to install Windows XP from a licensed install CD. The system booted into the Win XP setup, but failed to fully format the hard drive. Result on two different computers!: the machines locked up and will not boot. I took the hard drives out and formatted them with full format under working Windows 10 Pro. Cleared CMOS and rebooted the old computers. They posted without hard drives attached. When I tried to hook up the hard drives in the old systems after formatting hard drives are readable/writable in Windows 10 Pro, the systems crashed again. I am almost suspecting malicious code in Windows 10 that prevents downgrades...

    windows xp installation and dual core am

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

    How exactly do you do a Windows XP downgrade?

    I'm going to be upgrading my machine as seen in my other thread.

    I just found out my college will be giving me an OEM copy of Windows 7 Professional.

    I know that comes with downgrade rights to XP Pro and I prefer to use XP Pro.

    I've got an XP Pro OEM disc, but no key.

    My current machine has XP Home on it.:shadedshu

    How do I go about getting the XP Pro key to install XP Pro?

    Microsoft Windows XP Downgrade Program Extended by Another Six Months

    Alot of company still happy with their old computers with XP on it. They saw no reasons to upgrade to Vista. Upgrading their system to Vista mean new hardwares or even branch new computers for a whole company, but what will Vista gives them? XP already have everything they need.

    Vista is just a stepping stone for Windows 7, just like Windows Me was a stepping stone for Windows XP.

    I'm not dislike Vista, I would stick with XP, but I want to learn new things about new OS. It's time to move on, and adopt new things.
