  1. Attempting to Identify Problem Event ID from Win10 Crash>Restart

    Hello All,

So I am running into an issue where my computer has started randomly crashing and starting up again. I initially thought it was to do with the DistributedCOM wiht EventID 10016. Sadly, that was not it. I went through the checks of hardware, updates, and then did some regediting as well.

Now I'm looking at 3 other event IDs that and I want to find the culprit. All are errors from the system:

    • 7000
      • The SystemUsageREportSvc_QUEENCREEK service failed to start due to the following error: The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail
    • 7001
      • The WMPNetworkSvc service depends on the WSearch service which failed to start because of the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it
    • 7024
      • The description for Event ID 7024 from source Service Control Manager cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: VMwareHostd The locale specific resource for the desired message is not present.

Thoughts on which one it might be? Currently working on 7024 as I'm curious if VMware has Win10 conflictions.

  2. pc attempting to restart continually

    Hello Malcolm,

Thank you for posting your concern in Microsoft Community and we regret for the inconvenience. Let me assist you.

Now, to be able to understand the issue better, let us know a few more details on the below questions.

    • What is the make and model of the PC you are referring to?
    • What was the host operating system installed in your PC? If you performed Windows 10 upgrade, was it via Media Creation Tool or through Windows update?
    • Did you make any recent hardware/software changes to the computer, prior to the issue?
    • Did you notice if Windows is trying to configure any settings before failing or crashing out?
    • Do you receive any error messages in the subsequent restart after Windows fails to load at the first instance?
    • Are you able to start the computer normally in Safe Mode with Networking?

(This is a diagnostic step towards identifying and isolating any particular cause to the issue.)

Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 10

If you are able to boot the computer normally, I suggest you to check for particular event IDs in the Event Viewer which can help us to ascertain the cause of the issue.

To view activities in Windows, I suggest you to open the Event Viewer. To do so, follow the below steps.

    • Go to the Control Panel and choose to click on the
      Administrative Tools icon.
    • The above action will open up a new window of the Administrative Tools where you will see the
      Event Viewer.

Write to us with the updated status and the required information for us to be able to assist you further.

    Thank You.

  3. Kernel-Power event id 41. BugcheckCode 0

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In-order to get more clarity on this issue and to assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, reply with answers to the below questions:

    1. Are you aware of any changes made on your PC, prior to this issue?
    2. Is this issue specific while playing a particular game?
    3. Which edition of Windows are you currently using?

A Kernel Power Event 41 can occur in the following scenarios.

Scenario 1: The computer restarts, and there is a Stop error BugcheckCode in the event data.

Scenario 2: The computer is shut down by pressing and holding the power button.

Scenario 3: The system randomly restarts and no Stop error BugcheckCode is listed, or the computer is completely unresponsive (hard hang).

I suggest you refer the article on Kernel
    Power Event ID 41
and follow the steps for the scenario that is causing this error on your PC.

Additionally, you can refer the article on Windows
Kernel event ID 41 error "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first" in Windows

    and check if that helps.

  4. Attempting to Identify Problem Event ID from Win10 Crash>Restart

Event ID 10016, CLSID and APPID

Hey, I've been trying to resolve this same dcom issue myself, and I followed the steps you listed @FreeBooter, but when I try to do the last step, I firstly when clicking "edit" get a message saying

Attempting to Identify Problem Event ID from Win10 Crash>Restart [IMG]

And then when I do enter the menu after clicking "ok" on that dialog box, the add button is greyed out.

I'm 100% certain I followed all the steps correctly. I triple-checked it. But no dice...
