Windows 10: attempting to install KB5043064 Cumulative update but keep getting error 0x800f0831

I have attempted to install update KB5043064 for two days, but it fails with error code 0x800f0831I am running Windows 10 HomeVersion 22H2 Installed 8/18/2024OS Build 19045.4780Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19060.1000.0 What can I do to install this update?

Usual fix for that is an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs and data like any 'upgrade' procedure. I seem to recall that was suggested in your previous thread. Tutorial available, and I've posted a 4 step short-form procedure many many times. Were you to search tenforums for 0x800f0831 you might find e.g.

When I look up, it says this is a cumulative update, meaning it needs a prev update first.

OK, smart windows, what do I search for next? which one does it need? any clues atleast?

Here is what I found on google; - but the question is, what update # do I search for in the microsoft update catalog?

Resolution

To fix the issue, follow these steps:

1. Go to Microsoft Update Catalog.
   
2. In the Search box, enter the package ID of the <Missing_Package>.
   
3. Download the package and then install it.
   
4. Reinstall the <Failed_Package>.
   

 

Windows Update Error 0x800F0831 when attempting to install KB5013942

I have attempted to install KB013942 for Windows 10 Pro Version 21H2 for x64-lbased systems three times and have received error 0x800F0831 each time. The message says to retry, which is what I did. It also said to contact support.

Two other updates installed the same day were ok. Cumulative update for .Net Framework... KB5013624 and Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 v5.101 KB8090830.

Can someone help with this error? Is the update going to be fixed so it will install?
