    Attempting to Update Old ISO USB


    Hello all, I'm attempting to update a Windows 10 media installer on an official installer USB which came with the box when I bought windows 10. And unfortunately I cannot update it and the USB now only installs windows 10 from 2017. I attempted to recreate a partion on the USB but it was write protected, attempted going through the registry editor and change a variable but that did not work either. Went through Microsoft support and that did not work either. They suggested that I use a 3rd party software in order to remove the write protection. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Bootable USB with ISO - What am I missing?

    you can use pendrive with win too. in step 1 you have to select "custom iso"(or "other" cant remember how exactly it was dubed) and point win .iso file. i've used it for my install usb stick and it works fine.

    Bootable USB with ISO - What am I missing?

    I am trying to install win7 from a USB. I set the USB to be first boot and it finds it, but wont install the iso.

    I have tried ...

    However when I get to bootsect it does not do anything .. says it is not a recognized internal command ...

    Is there something I am missing? I even tried just loading the iso on the USB and booting, but did not work either

    Is there an easier way?

    USB boot for bios update

    Did the first step. It already doesn't work. Note the capacities and drive letters M:/N: The HP utility is about to format my raid-1 volume containing my 2 750gb drives. It thinks it's the usb stick. I can not select any other drives in the HP utility. My 512mb usb stick is U:.

    Any other suggestions?
