    Audio comes and goes in Windows 10, Voice Recorder starts it again?


    Hi there,


    I have an intermittent issue where the audio comes and goes on my HP Spectre laptop. When it does go, it can be "triggered" to come back on by playing something in Voice Recorder.


    Have all latest updates installed, drivers updated, troubleshooter has been run. I've seen other audio issues here and there e.g. most recently Whatsapp couldn't detect a speaker, but that has since resolved following an update. I've run the troubleshooter, checked all settings.


    Any help appreciated,

    Hi,

    We suggest that you run troubleshooting for Audio Recording by following these steps:

    • Type troubleshooting on the search box.
    • Click View all.
    • Select Recording Audio.
    • Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.

    Hello Linda,

    Issues with Windows 10 apps can usually be fixed by running the troubleshooter for Windows apps. To do that, you may refer to the link below:

    Run the troubleshooter for Windows apps

    If the problem persists, you may try to reinstall Voice Recorder by doing the following:

    • Type in Powershell in the search field and hit Enter.
    • Right-click on Windows PowerShell and select Run as administrator.
    • Click on Yes.
    • In the PowerShell box, type in or copy and paste Get-AppxPackage *soundrecorder* | Remove-AppxPackage, and press Enter.
    • Once Voice Recorder is uninstalled, open the Store app, download, and install Voice Recorder.

    Record my voice and sounds comes from speaker at the same time

    I recently purchased a laptop that has one audio jack (headset) instead of two jacks (one more Mic and one for Speaker)

    I want to record my voice for few seconds and then bring the Mic near the speaker and record sound coming from speaker for few more seconds and then continue recording my voice.

    With the new laptops seems like they added some setting which Mic wont record the sound comes from speaker. Even if I stick the Mic to the Speaker it wont record it and only record my voice or any other voice other than Speaker

    Is there any solution for this rather than buying another laptop with two jacks?
