    Audio cutout issues in Win11

Per the title, my audio keeps cutting out for roughly 3/4 of a second. It'll cut out once, do it again a few seconds later, it's good for a couple of minutes, and then it happens again. I've tried running the audio troubleshooter multiple times to no avail. I've tried disabling audio devices. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and updating my audio drivers. I've tried this after disabling automatic driver downloads, and again after re-enabling them.Disabling the Realtek audio driver in the device manager works, but only temporarily; within a few hours, my audio will be cutting out again. My

    Audio channel cutout

Today, I experienced a very bizarre issue.

One of the audio channels cutout on my phone. The right channel to be exact. In addition, I do believe there was immense distortion output through that channel. Prior to the channel cutting out, my right ear started to ache as if I was playing the music
too loudly, which I by no means was not.

Upon powering the phone off and back on, the audio channel resumed functionality. No the headphones weren't partially out. No the headphones aren't damaged. I used my other pair and the result was the same until I restarted the phone.

I do not believe it is a hardware issue, but a driver/bug issue. My phone is in mint condition, and has never been exposed to water, humidity, or drops.

I own a Lumia 1520 with the 8.1 developer preview release.

I sincerely urge any who represent/work for Microsoft to look into this issue as harm could result if indeed distortion/excess amplification of noise is present because of a driver/bug issue.

  3. Randomlly cutting out audio when i talk or people talk as well

    Dear Smurfas ,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community

Thank you for bringing this audio issue to our attention. I understand the frustration of experiencing random audio cutouts during conversations, especially when using Discord, and I'm here to help you resolve this problem.

To address this issue, I recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. First, ensure that your audio drivers are up to date. You can visit the manufacturer's website to check for any available driver updates specifically for your audio device.
    2. If the audio cutouts persist, try adjusting the settings within Discord itself. Open Discord, go to the User Settings, then Voice & Video, and under the Advanced section, disable "Quality of Service High Packet Priority" and "Noise Reduction." These settings sometimes contribute to audio problems, so disabling them may help alleviate the issue.
    3. Additionally, it’s also possible that some conflicting programs are messing up with your audio settings. To check if it’s a compatibility issue, you can do a clean boot and root out the offenders. Test if the audio cutoff issue still occurs in a clean boot environment. Here’s how:
      • Press Windows + R, type 'msconfig', and press Enter.
      • In the System Configuration window, go to the Services tab.
      • Check Hide all Microsoft services and then click Disable all.
      • Go to the Startup tab and click Open Task Manager.
      • Disable all startup items, then close Task Manager and click OK in the System Configuration window.
      • Restart your computer.
    4. Lastly, if the issue persists, it might be beneficial to consider reinstalling Discord. Uninstall the application completely from your computer, restart your system, and then download and install the latest version of Discord.
Please try these steps and let me know if they resolve the audio cutout problem in Discord. If the issue persists or if you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us for further assistance.

Thank you for your patience, and I'm dedicated to helping you find a solution.

    Best Regards,
