    Hi everyone!

    I have a DELL Inspiron 5570 x264 laptop working on Windows 10. Laptop is 1.5 years old. Last few months my bluetooth would stop working - in fact, bluetooth icon would disappear or bluetooth connection would get cut off during a movie. Sometimes it would come back after a laptop restart, some other times it was "hidden" and had to play with it/try restarting it from Services App etc., but most times I had to update the built-in system through the Dell Support Assist.

    I thought of installing a third-party USB Bluetooth driver to avoid this from happening again. So I got CSR dongle 4.0, installed it, paired it with my BOSE speaker audio was really bad, like static sound, tried to resolve that but the "handsfree telephony" option was nowhere to be found but because of the bad sound, I uninstalled CSR dongle for good.


    Now my laptop won't recognise/detect my speaker. What the heck is wrong again? I don't wanna use the CSR again; I basically need to fix my built-in bluetooth.

    CSR V4.0 Dongle "malfunction"

    Hi, Carter,

    Try these steps from Johan van Mierlo

    In the search type" Device manager" and open it.

    Click on the small arrow next to either "Bluetooth" or "Universal Serial Bus controllers"

    Right click on "CSR" and select Update Driver

    Select" Browse my computer for driver update"

    Select on bottom "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my Computer"

    Select "Generic bluetooth Driver"

    CSR V4.0 Dongle "malfunction"

    I recently got a CSR V4.0 Dongle because my computer is not bluetooth compatible and i wanted to connect some devices to my computer. I plugged in the dongle and it says that the device malfunctioned. I tried plugging it into other USB ports and none of
    them even recognize that there's a device there. If anyone knows whats going on, please help.
