Audio devices not detected when plugged into Dell DisplayLink Audio Service Continually...

I have an HP Envy running Windows 11 64-bit plugged into a Dell Universal Dock D6000 and two base-model Dell monitors. When I plug in my laptop using either the USB-A or USB-C plug, my system says that no audio devices are detected - either input or output. Through troubleshooting, I have seen that the Windows Audio Service is shutting itself off for some reason. I can start it manually - but it just shuts itself back off after a few seconds. Relevant info:Audio devices work fine when not plugged into the dockDevices do seem to come in and outI also have a Dell Lattitude 5550 also running Wi

  2. No Audio Device Detected after installing Dell updates

Following the below updates the audio on my laptop is not working and shows a "No audio device detected" message when hovering the volume icon.

    System: Dell G15 5515

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Home

    Updates

    - Dell Update Windows Universal Application - A00 - 26.36 MB - Recommended

    - Alienware Command Center Application - Full Installer - A00 - 1,124.09 MB - Recommended

    - Dell G15 5515 System BIOS - 1.9.0 - 20.48 MB - Critical

    - AMD Radeon Graphics Driver - A04 - 717.07 MB - Recommended

    - Realtek High Definition Audio Driver - A05 - 73.07 MB - Critical

    Things I've tried:

    • Running windows troubleshooter - Shows "Digital output - AMD high definition device" and "NVIDIA output - NVIDIA High definition output"
      • Both return: "The device does not appear to be plugged in. Check the connection, plug in the device, then click next"
    • Device Manager - Showed hidden, checked for updates, Realtek not showing.
    • Checked the RealTek service was running
    • Reverted the RealTek driver to the previous version
    • Tried a System Restore - but only had two versions and can't be certain it took me prior to the first installation as both on today's date
    • RealTek Audio Console fails with "Can not connect to RPC Service"

No Audio Device Detected after installing Dell updates

Here are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Try reinstalling the audio drivers: If the updates you installed caused the audio driver to become corrupt or stop functioning correctly, reinstalling the audio driver may resolve the issue.
    2. Rollback the Driver: If you have the option, try rolling back the driver to a previous version, which may fix the issue.
    3. Check the audio settings: Make sure that the correct audio device is selected in the audio settings.
    4. Restart the audio service: Try restarting the audio service.
    5. Check the audio connection: Make sure the audio cable is connected properly and the speakers or headphones are turned on.
    6. Run the SFC and DISM: Run System File Checker (SFC) and DISM, these windows commands can scan for corruption in windows files and repair them if found any.
    7. Check the hardware: If none of the above steps work, it's possible that there's a hardware issue with your audio device. Try checking the audio device inside the laptop and see if it's connected properly.
It's also worth noting that, if you have a Dell specific computer, you may want to try visiting Dell website and look for the audio driver specific to your computer. If you are unable to find the solution you can contact Dell customer support for further assistance

  4. Audio devices not detected when plugged into Dell DisplayLink Audio Service Continually...

Windows 10 not detecting devices plugged into 3.5mm audio jack. Please Help!

Matt, I am having the exact same problem. I have an ASUS ROG Laptop with Conexant Smart Audio drivers. Whenever I plug anything into my headphone output jack, it will properly play the audio through that device (whether it's headphones or external speakers)
but the "Playback" tab in the "Sounds" manager does not indicate any change in device (it continues to display "Speakers - Conexant Smart Audio HD" which is the default playback device with nothing plugged into the audio jack). My laptop's integrated microphone
continues to function normally but when I plug anything into the microphone jack, it inhibits the integrated microphone but does not allow any recording from the plugged in microphone (either stand-alone or as part of a headset). If you've figured this out
in the last week, I would be eternally grateful.
