Hi, I have some audio issues, suddenly my sound disappeared, later I found out that by turning off audio enhancement it comes back, but now it is quiet, and I can't use that function anymore. I think windows update could have done it, but I'm not 100% as windows update was downloaded, but I haven't yet restarted my laptop and it happened before that. I tried some guides for audio fix, but nothing worked regarding this issue. Tried deleting then reinstalling audio drivers through device manager, also reinstalled lenovo provided drivers, but no change. So now I'm not sure, is it possible that i

    Audio Enhancements

    Hi Charlotte,

One step that we could try is to manually re-install the Audio Enhancement, and see if it helps. First, go to HP's website and download the latest Audio Enhancement installer (IDT) and save it to your Downloads folder. Once done, follow the remaining steps
    below:

    • Search for Control Panel via Cortana search and hit the
      Enter
      key.
    • Open the Device Manager and click Sound, Video and Game controllers.
    • Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall.
    • Restart your PC.
    • Once your PC restarts, it should automatically load all audio driver. Let it complete the process.
    • Go to the Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select
      Run as administrator
      .
Once complete, check if you have the enhancements back and let us know the outcome.

    Hidden audio enhancement

    Hi...

I have a wired headphone and a pair of bluetooth earbuds. In the headphones/earbuds properties > Enhancements tab, I didn't select and apply any of those listed enhancements, but still I get an awesome audio playback effect of some kind. That effect disappears if I check and apply the Disable all sounds effects checkbox. Means that audio effect is not listed there and remains unknown. I'm unable to identify what effect is that. Sonic effect is already off. Audio player's all kinds of enhancements are off. Can you tell me what is that unnamed unlisted audio enhancement?

    Many thanks

    Audio Breaking with enhancements On

Hello guys, i found a topic with this problema that is exactly what happened to mine, but there was no answer and it was closed, have anyone found a solution for it? it's driving me crazy, i managed to make it work but now i can't restart my machine or it blows again, i can just shut it off and turn it on again.

    Here's the topic:

"This is a bit of a long one so I will try to explain as best I can.

I have recently built and entirely new computer a few months ago and with it I have a ROG Strix B550-A Gaming motherboard. For the first month or so of using the computer I've noticed no real issues with audio whatsoever, and I'm a heavy user of mixers and surround effects. But during that time, I was using a Corsair wireless headset, via USB dongle, and used the Corsair software for audio enhancements.

It wasn't until I changed headphones to a wired one and tried using the onboard audio device that I noticed that I was unable to use mixers and equalizers, both through the Realtek Audio Console and the ASUS software that comes with the motherboard, Sonic Studio 3. I've done the full driver reinstall using the drivers provided in the ASUS website and still, could not use the equalizers. Not only that but, whenever I would go into the windows Sound settings and into the properties of the onboard sound device, I noticed that when I have the "Enable audio enhancements" option turned on, the sound straight up does not work. As in it does not render at all, if I try to play a Youtube video or a Spotify song it would say they were unable to render the audio or play the song and not play anything. So it's not like it was playing just muted, it was directly a problem with the sound rendering.

I contacted the motherboard supplier for support and after several back and forth, BIOS and Driver updates, all they could really tell me was to either reinstall windows altogether or get a replacement board. Since a replacement would take long to arrive *and* to re-setup and I needed my computer for work, I went with reinstalling windows. That, surprisingly fixed the problem. Upon doing a fresh reinstall of windows and having all the same drivers pre-installed, having the audio enhancements option toggled would not break my sound and I could use equalizers just fine. It wasn't until I tried reinstalling the same drivers for a separate microphone issue (faulty cable) that I realized that reinstalling the drivers would make the problem happen again. So I reinstalled windows yet again and did not touch the drivers since (it's still the latest drivers when I reinstall windows). It wasn't until recently that I had to do a Windows update that the sound was once again not working.

So from my understanding there's something wrong with Windows and the compatibility with my onboard audio whereas I cannot even update windows from its freshly installed state and it will stop working.

Additionally I'd like to add that this would happen both in Windows 10 and Windows 11, as updating to Windows 11 was one of the things I tried to do in order to fix the issue. It did not, and in fact the first symptom when updating to Windows 11 was that the sound worked but the equalizer and enhancements did not work, regardless of whether they were toggled or not. This is also what recently happened upon installing the windows update and upon restart of the machine, the usual symptoms of the sound not working were once again present. So far the only "solution" has been to reinstall windows but that is a huge hassle as I have to constantly reset my settings and reinstall most apps, and I cannot be doing that every time there is a windows update or driver update to be done.

I've created a video demonstrating the issue and using both the onboard audio and the Corsair headphones as comparison which can be found here:

    https://streamable.com/r1kk4x

    Technical information:
    Motherboard: ROG Strix B550-A Gaming

    OS: Windows 11 Pro / Version: 21H2 / OS build: 22000.434
    Sound Device: Realtek(R) Audio

Sound Driver Provider: Realtek Semiconductor Corp.

    Driver Date: 12/22/2020
    Driver Version: 6.0.9088.1

Is anyone able to tell me what I can do to fix this and have my audio enhancements working? I've considered buying a dedicated audio card but in case this an OS issue, I don't wanna run the risk of buying one just to have the same issue occur."
