Windows 10: Audio Files - File Explorer Sort by Sample Rate

I am working with audio files : WAV; AIFF; MP3.

I want to preview, rename, move to folders.

I use this AutoHotKey script to preview the files.

It does not release the file to allow you to rename it but it just about works. I can at least listen to the files without using other software like VLC.

I'm using

https://www.freac.org/ to convert the files

https://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/ to rename them

Anyway.

I just want to sort by Sample Rate in File Explorer

I'm sure there used to be an "Audio Sample Rate" in the columns selector.

Perhaps it's been renamed and I'm not seeing it.

Perhaps I remember using Directory Opus, and it was never a feature.

Perhaps it can be restored with a registry hack.

Any help in previewing, renaming, sorting by types of compression, sample rate, encoding, would be appreciated.

Maybe I remember using Adobe Bridge.

I've not had to do it for years and it seems windows is losing features and not gaining anything I find useful.

Windows File Explorer Column Details for Audio files

oh brilliant. I just saw what you mean.

Audio Sample Rate = Frequency
Audio Sample size = Bit Depth

They are both indeed listed in the details pane. Didnt thinl to lool there.

Now, how do I get those two values listed in columns so Incan sort through thousands of files quickly without having to go through the details pane for every file? I’ll have a look at File Metadata. But shouldnt that be doable on a windows file manager native bases since the file manager seems to have access to that data already...

Sorting with File Explorer.

I tried the method that was complicated (3rd option) but fell over in second step as I could not find any "apply to folder button"'.

However, the simple put *.* in search bar, then sort results windows by date does the trick. It is slightly cumbersome as I have to do that each time I am selecting files (to upload to sharepoint) but a lot less hassle than I was having to scroll up and down between sorted file block and sorted folder block.
