Windows 10: Audio from screen speakers sporadically fails working but headset works fine

Since a few days I've had the issue that when starting up windows, or when switching speaker devices, my screens fail to emit any sound. The only thing that changed inbetween this starting to occur was that I updated my graphics drivers, but A, the update was imperative as my computer randomly crashed/blue-screened because of the previous one, and B, I fail to see how graphics drivers cause my screens to emit no sound they're connected through HDMI.


I've hooked them up to a different PC and that works perfectly fine, so there's nothing amiss with the screens. When inspecting my sound control panel, windows reports it DOES emit sound, but I'm not hearing anything. I was browsing around on google and saw that very recently I'm not the only one having inexplicible sound issues recently. I've updated just about everything I could find in the past 2 days, but nothing seems to fix it, and it's really annoying to deal with absolutely no sound from outside my headset.

Right Speaker Works Sporadically

My right speaker works sporadically. Sometime after noon it will just start working without intervention. As strange as it sounds it seems to be time related. The next day, even though I don't logout but just lock the system, it won't work again until the
afternoon.

The PC is a Dell OptiPlex 3060 and speakers are plugged into the audio jack in the front. (There is no jack in the back). I have tried other speakers with the same result. I have USB headphones and when I use those, the sound works properly for the headphones.

I have the latest Windows 10 updates and the latest sound driver. I have replaced the motherboard. I have tried the audio troubleshooting utilities without success.

Has anyone else experienced such a strange problem? Any suggestions other than what I mentioned in the description?

I suggest you try the steps listed below and check if it works. This issue could be because of the Headphones BT SPEAKER Stereo being set as default. I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works.

• Pair the speaker with your PC.
  
• Right click the Windows icon on the taskbar and choose
  Device Manager.
  
• Expand Sound, video, and game controllers
  and right click on your Bluetooth speaker (BT SPEAKER Stereo).
  
• Choose Disable and acknowledge the confirmation popup. Wait for the screen to refresh.
  
• Right click on the same device again and Enable.
  
• Exit Device Manager and see if the issue persist.

Headset not working

I was on youtube earlier today and the audio was fine but after about 30 mins, it stopped working. I got to the sound stage on the troubleshooting and the audio played fine so i went back on youtube and the audio was working fine again. However i went
on a game after that and the volume didn't work at all. I 100% turned the sound on and when i got to the sound stage on troubleshooting, the audio played back fine. I went back on the game and the audio still wasn't working. About 1 hour later, I went on
another game and the audio was fine for 10 mins before it it stopped working. Again I went back on troubleshooting but it changed and this time it asked me if i wanted to troubleshoot my headphones or speakers. I thought this was strange as it had never asked
me before and i have never had speakers for this computer, only a headset. Also there are no built in speakers. I did the sound step on troubleshooting and the audio did not play. What is going on.
