    Audio gets compressed


    Hey there,

    This morning I bumped into a problem with my friend's laptop (Lenovo thinkpad x 230). We will have a concert tomorrow and somehow when we playback some louder parts of our music it gets compressed. It's not because of the DAWs because we tried to use many and we bumped into the same problem, currently we are updating the realtek driver of the laptop but if it does not work I am not sure what to do next, so I figured I might wanna ask for help from you guys, any help or advice is much appreciated and happy halloween

    Can not record audio.

    Hi,

    We suggest that you run troubleshooting for Audio Recording by following these steps:

    • Type troubleshooting on the search box.
    • Click View all.
    • Select Recording Audio.
    • Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.

    Microphone audio sounds compressed?

    My Blue Yeti microphone audio sounds very compressed, like it has some sort of noise suppression filter being used. On other devices it sounds fine, so clearly it's not the microphone itself. Here's an older thread that was never resolved which featured the exact same problem I'm currently facing: Redirecting

    To be clear, I tried the steps provided, but I don't have the option for a "Signal Boost" and the option for "Signal Enhancements" seems to have no effect whether it's on or off.

    Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

    can anyone please tell me of a good(freeware preferably) that can compress movie/audio files?

    i am using nokia video converter but the files are waaaaaay too big

    any suggestions?
