Windows 10: Audio in one channel only, for only one application...

I am mystified: My best guess is that the problem is related to Windows option update KB5004296, a couple of weeks ago, because onset of problem coincided. I run Windows 10 Pro and audio through an EVGA NuAudio card, and I watch tv through the MediaPortal interface, through a Hauppauge tuner card. Everything worked great until--audio in MediaPortal in left channel only, but fine in all other applications (browser, Foobar audio player, etc.). I tried uninstalling KB5004296 and then uninstalling and then reinstalling MediaPortal and the audio card drivers. Also tried a DISM and scan Windows repair. Problem persists. What is stranger, is that if I "preview" a channel in MediaPortal's configuration mode, audio is fine, but not once I open the application proper. All sound settings (including balance, of course) have been checked and rechecked and checked again. Developers on the MediaPortal forums are stumped. I suspected KB5004296 in part because, as advertised, it "Addresses an issue that incorrectly routes some audio channels when streaming using certain fixed channel layouts." I hate to lose all the work I put into setting up MediaPortal, but if I can't get this straightened out.... Gotta go. Thanks for reading. Any ideas? N.

Hi Monica - thanks so much for responding... we did all of the things that you have listed but to no avail...

And in spite of all this, after 2 shops looking at the computer, with no real answers to the problem, my husband on a hunch brought home 2 new digital speakers and evidently the drivers installed as well and now both channels are working! We are so thankful.

I'd like to know more about your concern. Kindly tell us if you are using a headset or an external speaker to play the audio. Are you using any audio player application? If so, please tell us which application you are using.

Also, kindly send us a screenshot of audio settings that is greyed out so we can have a closer look.

Meanwhile, I suggest that you run the Playing Audio troubleshooter. Here's how:

1. On the Start menu, type Control Panel and then hit
   Enter.
   
2. On the Control Panel search field, type Troubleshooting. Click the result.
   
3. On the left Pane, select View all.
   
4. Select and run the Playing Audio troubleshooter.

Please suggest me best Audio Video Syncing application.

I have created one animation with few frames and the i have adjusted the movement of those frames as per audio bit which I had connected to my ears while making that animation. but now I want to sync that animation video with audio file. I did that with virtual dub software as well but somewhere in video the frames left behind the audio.

Please give me proper suggestion of application which can do that.
